Apparently the hottest phone out in the market today, the Galaxy S III, became too hot to handle that it actually LITERALLY exploded. Remember those times when exploding iPhones became the hottest talk of the town? Well we think we have a similar case of “catching fire” here.

The unfortunate circumstance happened in Ireland when a white Galaxy S III was attached to a car mount when all of a sudden, white flames started coming out from the phone’s base. The phone was purchased from Carphone Warehouse. The owner of the phone was unharmed and got an immediate replacement phone from Samsung. News and photos of the remains of the busted phone is now all over the internet while the defective unit was already sent to Samsung’s headquarters for further and detailed investigation.

Samsung released an official statement saying that the incident is an isolated case for now and they hope that it stays that way.

“There have been recent online posts displaying pictures of a Samsung GALAXY SIII that appears to have heat-related damage at the bottom of the device. Samsung is aware of this issue and will begin investigating as soon as we receive the specific product in question.

Once the investigation is complete, we will be able to provide further details on the situation. We are committed to providing our customers with the safest products possible and are looking at this seriously.”
